My Dad's birthday

Dog in rickshaw

I went running these few mornings trying to prepare for the coming Chartered 10k, although it is a bit late ;-) I hope I can keep it up until the holiday is finished.

These few mornings I saw a woman pushing a rickshaw which had a dog in it. The first day I saw the woman pushing it to the meeting place where the dogs and their owners gathered. Then some dogs, like children seeing their friends, running towards the dog and barking happily at the same time (welcoming the baby maybe)

The next morning, I saw the dog and its owner staying at the meeting place. The woman was chatting with her friends BUT the dog was still in the rickshaw. The third day I saw exactly the same phenomenon as the day before. What on earth was the woman doing? What on earth was the dog doing? The woman should have let the dog get off and run around. The dog should have barked if the owner did not let it out of the rickshaw. Why it was lying in the rickshaw like a real BABY?

Year of the Ox

Today is the first day of the Lunar New Year. According to the Chinese Zodiac, this year is the year of the Ox. The ox is hardworking but not clever, according to me :-) It works all day long but not very rewarding. I don't want to work as hard as the ox because this kind of life is not enjoyable. Pragmatically, we need to work to make ends meet. Life is short, and for a human being, life is not just to work. We should work hard while we are working on one hand. We should also know how to enjoy lives on the other hand.
Today is also my father's birthday. So every year, we have the same schedule: 'Yum Cha' in the morning, cake cutting at 4 o'clock and then dinner in the evening. Every year is the same, nobody dares to change it. Maybe that is our ritual. We don't want to break the rule because we are afraid bad luck will come if the schedule is changed.

Obama

Today is the inauguration day of Obama, the new president of the United States. He will be the 44th president of the country. It is not only a BIG day for the U.S.A. but a BIG day for the whole world. Everyone in the world is waiting for this historical moment . There are one and a half hours to wait. The ceremony will begin at 10a.m. in the morning in America. In Hong Kong, it is ten twenty in the evening now. It is a very exciting moment, isn't it?

My diligent Dad ;-)

My father is learning to use a computer. He is very old now and he does not have a good memory. However, he is trying hard and shows a lot of interests in using it. I regretted not getting him a computer long time ago. Anyway I hope he enjoys playing with it.
